Our Family Farm
Our family farm sits on 75 acres of rolling hills of pasture and farmland that curves along the Pudding River in Aurora, Oregon. It was a dream come true to find this beautiful, picturesque farm almost 20 years ago and raise our three children. We have many animals including 7 goats, 2 alpaca, dogs, and cats.
Our land welcomes many interesting birds and wildlife throughout the year. We often see Blue heron, Robins, Blue Jays, Redwing Blackbirds, White Storks, Bald Eagles, geese and a variety of ducks. We see wild rabbits, coyote, and most interesting, the many endangered Red Painted Turtles that arrive each Spring and Summer to bask in the sun on logs in the ponds.
My Studio
A few years ago I built an art studio along the hillside of our home that overlooks the farmland, ponds, river, and wildlife. It is in my “She Shed” that I create my pottery using primarily porcelain ceramic clay. I love throwing vases, vessels, pots, and mugs to hold my beautiful home grown flowers. Recently, I have been pressing my flowers and creating pressed flower art! Stay tuned for more art offerings.
My Flowers
I have always had a large cutting garden. I grew up farming and have been passionate about growing flowers for years. Our land is also home to a variety of wonderful wildflowers such as sweet peas, violets, heirloom snowdrops, wild iris and hops. You will often find me strolling the farm foraging for greens, interesting plants, and blossoming branches to create unique floral arrangements.
About Me
I completed the floral design class at The Floral Design Institute in Portland a few years ago. Following that course, I enrolled in the Floret online flower farming course. I have completed that class and it was amazing! During my studies I realized my dream of combining my love for pottery with growing beautiful, sustainable flowers.
